  1. The admin can choose the customer’s login status for review.
  2. Admin can create, edit, and delete the review from the back end.
  3. Admin can set the status of the customer review(enable or disable).
  4. Allow admin to edit or delete the customer’s reviews.
  5. Allows customers to upload images during product reviews.
  6. Reviews added by the customer will be visible once the admin approves them.
  7. Customers can view other customers’ ratings and comments on the products.
  8. Guest users can also add a review if the admin sets the login required field as Disable.

Note: A review added by the customer can be edited by simply re-entering the review input details, and the latest changes will be visible on the front end made by the customer.

Installation: Opencart Review system

Steps to Install the Module

Go to Opencart’s Admin panel >> Extension >> Installer

  1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘Extensions’ to see the drop-down list.
  2. Then click on ‘Installer’ from the drop-down list.
  3. After clicking on ‘Installer,’ you will see a file upload icon at the top right of the page, as shown below. (Before uploading, you need to save your file in your system with a name that ends with ‘.ocmod.zip’.)
  4. An entry with the module name will appear on your screen. Then, click on the green button to install the module.

Permission: Opencart Review system

Now, grant the store administrators permission to edit the module.

Opencart’s Admin panel >> System >> User >> User Groups >> Edit Administrator

  1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘System’ to see the drop-down list.
  2. Then click on ‘Users’.
  3. A drop-down list will appear when you click on ‘Users.’From the list, click on ‘User Groups.’ 
  4. Edit Administrator will allow permission for the user.

  1. Set access and modify permission for all related modules.

Configuration: Opencart Review system

Opencart’s Admin panel >> Extensions >> Extensions >> Choose The Extension Type >> Modules >> Iml review system >> install and edit.

  1. Go to Opencart’s Admin Panel and click on ‘Extensions’ to see the drop-down list.
  2. Again, click on ‘Extensions’ from the drop-down list.
  3. Choose your extension type.

  1. Click on the green button and install the module.
  2. Set the customer Login status for reviews. (Note: If the login required button is ‘Enabled, ‘ only login customers can give reviews. )
  3. Click the edit button, set the status to ‘Enable’ and save.

Finally, the module installation, permission, and configuration are completed with this step.

Admin Workflow

After the admin completes the configurations, an option( Review system) will appear in the left menu. Check Below:

By clicking on the Create button, the review page will open, as shown in the image below.

  • Customer Name: Select the customer’s name to create a review for half of that customer.
  • Product: Select the pre-decided product for review.
  • Review Title: Add the title of the review.
  • Review: Create the appropriate comments and complete the review description of the product.
  • Rating: Set the appropriate stars for the product.
  • Image: Upload a photo of the product if you want.
  • Status: Enable or disable to display in the store.

NOTE: The addition of the customer name and product both have autocomplete features.

After filing the review form, press the save button. It will now be visible to all customers.

Customer View and Review Flow

When a customer visits the product page, he/she will see a review button in the review section.

When a customer clicks on the review button, the review form appears. The customer must fill out the form and submit the review, as shown in the image.

When the admin approves it from the back end, the added review will be displayed under the product section.

NOTE: Customer can edit his review by simply clicking on the same review button.

If the admin enables the customer login required option, the guest customer will automatically be redirected to the login/registration page by clicking on the review button.
